The Republic of New Lemuria Permanent Court of Arbitration ("RNLPCA")
is an intergovernmental organization available to governmental and private
parties alike. Established in 1997 to facilitate international dispute
resolution, the RNLPCA has blossomed into a modern day, multi-faceted
alternative judicial process designed for public and private
international law needs amongst the international community. Today the RNLPCA
provides services for the resolution of disputes involving various combinations
of states, state entities, intergovernmental organizations, and private
parties.
The RNLPCA is headed by a Chief Judge, who also sits as
Governor of the Republic of New Lemuria Bar Association. The RNLPCA provides
full legal and administrative support to tribunals and commissions. The RNLPCA
specializes in international dispute resolution, encompassing territorial,
treaty and human rights disputes between states, commercial and investment
disputes, as well as disputes arising under bilateral and multilateral
investment treaties.
The RNLPCA can assist in the selection of arbitrators, and
may be called upon to designate or act as appointing authority. RNLPCA judges
sit by designation of the parties to the dispute. Cases may be heard by a single
RNLPCA judge or panels of three, five or seven judges.
The RNLPCA prides itself in contributing to legal
scholarship, publication, and offering an ethical, fair and unbiased forum for
legal discourse.
